Whole body itching for no reason2/13/2024 ![]() I'm just happy that so far it only ever lasts maybe 3 days max except for this one time when I wrecked my sleep schedule AGAIN on the 3rd day and also stressed a ton and sure enough, it was two back to back waves for the first time ever. I'm happy I figured out the cause after 3 years though. I wish it didn't happen to me but it does and that's that. ![]() Note that this also coincided with me gaining 30 pounds (going from 170 pounds to 200 pounds), getting stung by some giant flying thing in shed of one of my houses, and taking "the shot(s)." I can go months without it happening as long as I don't stay up too late watching some series on Netflix or wake up too early and cut my necessary sleep short. Sure enough, two days later my face, chest, and other parts of my body start itching and then sometimes peeling. So example I'd wake up after only 3 hours of sleep to get up early and get some work done, while also stressing out about whatever it is that was a big enough mess that required me to wake up so early. Anyhow after a lot of guessing I finally figured out that it was a combo of stress and lack of sleep that triggered. I hope this helps, and good luck!Ībout three years ago this started happening to me, I don't know why as it had never happened to me before and no one in my immediate family suffers from it either. ![]() Whatever you do, you need to see a doctor at this point before you scratch yourself enough that you have permanent scars, like I do. Usually when Benadryl doesn't work, you need prescription steroids and a decent doctor will give you those. They may give you steroids to kick the rash. The more you stress about it and itch it, the worse it will get. Remember that it could also be from stress.I switched to a soap for sensitive skin and a new, natural laundry detergent and that got my rash mostly under control. Consider if you've started with a new soap or detergent.Cut any suspicious foods out and see what happens. Make a list of any new changes in your diet recently, or if you've been eating more of something, consider that as well.Heat will make the bacteria grow and worsen the rash. ![]() You should keep yourself cool whenever possible, don't take warm showers, take cold oatmeal baths. If it's only in a specific area, it's an allergy to detergent or your soap (mine was the latter). If you itch all over, it's probably an allergic reaction to a food or animals.I went to Urgent Care after a week of itching/no sleep and this is what they told me: I'm also a student, and the same thing happened to me a couple months ago. I'm a student and don't have many resources to see a dermatologist. I now have my boyfriend rub me down with coco butter every once in a while and. There are no marks from bugs or hives and my skin isn't even dry. The frequency is maybe one scratch every 2 minutes when bad and sometimes I wind up scratching my entire body or back. The itching feels like those moments where you get almost a piercingly painful itch and need to scratch it. I tried antihistamines and it helped a little bit but not enough to keep me from itching. The other night I got so itchy that I broke my skin on my shoulder and bled all over my sheets and cried like a bitch. I wake up in the middle of the night to itch. ![]() Over the next couple of weeks, it hasn't gotten any better or worse but has completely fucked over my sleep cycle. It came and went throughout the day and spread to my neck, shoulders, and chest. There were no welts or bumps or anything. Problem: Two weeks ago, I woke up in my dorm and felt like my skin on my back was covered in ants or ant bites. Currently gifted some neutrogena acne wash.
